Discover how a fed-up Finance guy took control of his life.
Hi there. My name is Anand Giani.
If you’re here, you’re probably looking for change in your life. Significant change I bet. Change that results in more wealth, more time and fulfilment. And I don’t blame you as I was searching for the same thing.
As a kid, I always imagined that I would have a life where my mind was free, and could do when I want, whenever I wanted. I just thought it was a case of when, rather than if…
Turns out my imagination became reality.
My Background
I was born in 1984, and grew up in east London with my parents and 2 older siblings. My parents are from India and we had a humble upbringing – but a strong work ethic and a focus on academics. I was quite an academic kid, and generally well-behaved in school! After doing well in Maths at high school, I pursued it further by doing a Mathematics degree at Imperial College, London. I actually thought I was good at maths until I went there!
Graduating from university, I entered the corporate world and started a job as an Auditor at one of the big 4 accountancy firms. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into to be honest. The work sucked, the hours sucked, and I was not used to the politics of corporate work-life and playing the “game” to progress. I hated it there. I qualified as a Chartered Accountant, and then moved on to a large investment bank. I figured that maybe life would be different at a bank! Ah, so young and naïve.
Sound familiar?
Sure, the money was decent, but I didn’t enjoy working at an investment bank. I just felt like a cog in a huge wheel. Oh and I despised the miserable, grey concrete jungle, i.e. Canary Wharf (a financial district in London). It was a period in my life when I was looking for an escape of some sort. Travelling, trying out acting, taking up guitar lessons, learning new skills, etc. All these things were great and I loved doing them, but they felt temporary in nature and I still had to go back to work at the bank.
I was then made redundant after 2 years due to restructuring. It was bitter-sweet, because I got a payoff and was made free….but I also realized that in the corporate world, you’re just a commodity. A resource that can be easily replaced by other wide-eyed young workers. Basically, no one is indispensable.
Sound familiar?
I then joined another niche bank as a Risk Manager, before trying my hand as a Proprietary Trader . Being a ‘Prop Trader’ was the closest thing ive done to starting a new business. You have to manage risk, have a clear strategy, control your emotions, be adaptable, work long hours AND MAKE MONEY! It was a volatile journey and I made did some money….but lost significant amounts too!
I lost a lot of confidence. But…at the same time, I came out with a whole new life experience. I felt like an Entrepenuer that ‘failed forward’ – meaning I failed at this venture but I learned so so much about myself and the mistakes made.
My Pain
Like you, I’ve always had a burning desire for success. I’ve always had a can-do attitude, but just didn’t know what it was that I ‘can do’, or ‘how to’. I just thought that hard work, academics and applying yourself was the key to success.
Yes, I earned decent amounts working in the Finance world. Enough to buy a few properties with my wife. But I got more and more disillusioned with;
– Working for someone else
– Not believing in the work I was doing
– Waiting for my next paycheck to pay bills
– Long commutes (2hrs door to door)
The long commutes meant I was coming home at 8pm and barely had any time with my 2yr old son before he went to bed. I felt so sorry for him, and tried to make it up to him by spending more time on the weekends. I just thought this can’t be my life. No way.
I watched and listened to a lot of self-development videos/audio like Tony Robbins, Tim Ferris, Gary Vaynerchuck, Robert Kiyosaki, and noticed they had similar themes and messages. It was about visualisation, being grateful and imagining you are already successful, and the law of attraction etc. You may have heard of all these techniques/methods before, and may even be practicing some of these.
Breakthrough
One day in 2019, while I was driving home from the supermarket I was listening to Tony Robbins on Youtube on my phone loudspeaker. All of a sudden, there was a pause in the video and I heard another voice.
I knew it was an advert, but there was something about this guy’s voice. He was talking about changing your path and how he was able to do it. He seemed genuine and humble, and something about him said ‘if I can do it, why can’t you?’ I didn’t skip the advert…I just wanted to listen more.
After going through the video, I was very intrigued. I followed his instructions and it led me down a path that I am SO GLAD I took. I joined his community which consisted of world-class mentors and marketers who had been there and done it in the online space. There were other people like me, i.e Finance professionals and others that wanted a SUSTAINABLE CHANGE to their life. Best of all, there were multi-millionaires and highly successful people who held my hand and by using the integrated tools and platforms, I was taken step-by-step towards the goal of a profitable online business.
My growth has been unbelievable. I’m talking about my financial growth, mentality, self-realization, marketing and technical skills. Bear in mind – I had ZERO website development or online technical skills.
Not just that! I finally had a vision of what I wanted to create, contribute and achieve in the medium to long term. Having the freedom allows you to pursue your passions and think clearly about what you want to do.
You just can’t put a price on that. Waking up every single day with purpose and passion for what you do is quite simply the best feeling.
And doing something with passion is very fulfilling.
So in 2019 I made a commitment to myself. A commitment to only work on meaningful projects and businesses that align with my personal values, to help others and they would only be projects I am truly excited to work on.
IF you’re looking for help creating a freedom business like I did, and one that you are truly excited to work on and passionate about, I know I can point you to the right place.
Take it from someone who worked in the Finance world, and has tried many projects and online business ideas – many of which were promoted ‘Get rich quick’ schemes. They were just false dawns and too good to be true.
We are all a product of our experiences, knowledge, past actions etc. Your current state, i.e. finances, relationships, mood – is primarily due to our actions in the past that have led us to this point in our lives.
If we wish to change our path, change our life, then it is important to make the right steps now.
So, do you want change?
Or, do you NEED change like I did?
If you need change, and you’re tired of not living the life you really want, tired of being tied to one country, and tired of not having the freedom you want, then let’s at least explore the first step that I took, and start your journey too.
Best wishes,
